I have some extra branches on my family tree, my grandfather was married a few times and so I was blessed to have many grandmothers. I have even been blessed to have some Great-Grandmothers. JoAnne is my mom's "mom-who-raised-her" (Pat's) mother...
Did you get that. This is my Great Grandmother JoAnne Baker "Grandma Baker" to me. I feel so very blessed to have known my Great Grandmother, that's not something that all people get in life. She was so talented, kind, loving, giving... the list goes on. I loved that every time I saw her, she had bright pink lipstick, dark eyeliner, and a big smile for me. She was an artist, and a talented one. When I was teen she painted some Cinderella and other fairy tale huge backdrops-- it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. She does florals, scenery, and she has done some horses, and even a self portrait. She could crochet, knit, sew and was always making something... I love the precious memories I have of her.

She was an incredible genealogist, she documented so much of her life and I can't wait to read over it! That's her Big Book of Remembrance on the table. I giggled a little when I was told she was married in Mexico... that's a her wedding dress, she has always had beautiful taste!
This is her backdrop she painted the St. George temple so beautifully.
The grand and great-grand children wrote love notes and we tucked them under her pillow...

Grandma Baker's favorite color was purple... it was fitting that everywhere you looked there was some purple.
Granny Pat wore purple, and some earrings of Grandma's.
My Grandma Baker, you've lived a marvelous life, a full and beautiful life. You've been an example and a friend. You've faced all challenges with grace, and never gave up. You've shared your talents, and sparked creativity in every one who's known you
---and some who didn't know you.
You've left a mark here on this earth, you've made an impression, left a legacy.
You've loved, and in return, been very loved.
We will look forward to the day when we can see you're smile in heaven.
I hope you're wearing your lipstick.
We did the Hokey Pokey in honor of my grandma at the luncheon, it was her favorite song...
My children were able to pick a favorite painting to bring home and call their own.
These were their choices..
And I got some earrings that were great-grandma's.
I wore them today at church, and I thought of her all day.
