Dance Recital!

We had a big day today! We went to the little girls' recital. They both danced beautifully, Corinne waved to mom & dad, and Colette was a prima-ballerina.
I'm so proud of these little angels! They were wonderful!

Colette's Dance
Colette is pretty much the tallest young girl in blue.
In almost every picture she is just to the right of the center- or dead center.
In the last photo she is on the left.

Corinne's Dance
Corinne is on the end, far left. Kenly is next to her on the right. The girls ALWAYS dance together. Almost squishy close!

Hair Show with Sage

Nail polish, Tape-in hair extensions, and some seriously awesome sunless tanner.
I bought them all. The sunless airbrush setup, and some hair extensions... (though not hothead's brand (shown here) I bought Donna Bella)
I might not get to go to too many of these shows, as I spent waaayyyy too much.

Preschool Grad & 2nd Grade A Honor Roll!

Kallin had a graduation program, and he sang his little heart out!! It was so fun to hear him sing Hooray for the world and Three Little Pigs. He's had such wonderful year with the preschool program and he's really enjoying school, reading, math and friends. He listed every single friend in this photo, and was such a social little man! We're so proud of him and his accomplishments.

(L-R Mrs Jeanette, Mrs Hunter, Mrs Annie, Mrs Lynn)

On Colette's award day, she received A Honor Roll & Taking Care of Business! We are so proud of her! She worked so hard this year, and really got those grades to show it! She's done so well at learning when it's time to play and when it's time to WORK, and she WORKS! She's really enjoyed school this year, it was really a monumental year for her, she felt confident and had a whole lot of fun! She had Mrs Geis for the beginning of the year and we were worried when they told us she had to move, and Colette was getting a new teacher. Mr Hendrickson turned out to be a wonderful teacher! He created a fun and functional learning environment and really allowed each child to shine! We're so grateful Colette had such great teachers!!!

Calyse Shoot

My sister in law Courtney just had a sweet little girl, and I was able to convince her to allow me to do a newborn photoshoot on her little angel.
Here's a couple of beautiful shots.
I also snuck a quick shot of big sister Kenly with little Calyse when they were here at the house for a visit.

Colette EARNED her iPad!

Colette got her heart set on earning an iPad. Yes an iPad!! It's $399 plus tax, protection plan, zagg protector & case price. That's a whole lotta money for a 7 year old!
Well, she had earned $230 all on her own by doing jobs around the house for some cash (like $2 to take out the trash, $5 for playroom cleanup, etc) and then she also chose to save her souvenir money from when we went to Flordia (another $60). She also had some birthday money. She worked her tail off, and though she was tempted several times to spend her money on a lower price toy, she stuck to it! She SAVED!
At her school they did a big fundraiser. (the Cookie Dough Man) She went to work, and she sold a whole lot! She earned the right to compete in the Hamster Race. One lucky winner would receive $200!!! She kept telling us, that if she won, that'd be enough to get her iPad! Can you believe it--- SHE WON!
That was it, she'd made it to her goal! So we went and bought her a shiny new white iPad. All her own. We uploaded books, games and other fun things, we set her up with her very own FaceTime address, so her aunties can FaceTime her. She's got to be the happiest gal around! I'm so proud of her! (I can't believe she saved so much money!!) She's learned a wonderful lesson that if you save, even just $1, eventually that money will add up, and you can buy something you REALLY want.

RACE FOR THE CURE

This year Kenny, the kids and I all did Race For the Cure with Sheila (our survivor in PINK!) and the Cox's, the King's and Ken & Marcia.

We wore Cox & Gallacher Karate Tee's and though it was early, and we may have had a meltdown before we left, got off at the wrong exit 3 times--- we had a wonderful time. It was touching, seeing the survivors in a parade, and the people all gathering to support those who've passed and those who've beat cancer. It was really special. We walked the whole 5K with the kids, and it was great, except that time we mis-understood Corinne and she started sobbing... she just needed to go potty! (don't worry, we got her to a potty and it was much better after that.
Kallin rode on Kenny's shoulders, Colette jogged, ran and kept pace with Marcia. Corinne rode in the stroller and we took turns pushing her. We saw where Ken & Marcia lived when they were newlyweds, saw the chapel they met in. It was really cool.
The experience was a memorable one.
