Today's Playdate & Last Day of School

Thursday's Playdate with the girls was so fun. They drew outside with chalk (I may have gotten slightly carried away.....)

Then the girls dressed up as pretty princesses.....

 and then changed their dresses....

They had a lovely afternoon. They even had a tea party.

The kids came home from school and we had yummy lunch & read some new Scholastic books. Then we went outside and played in the kiddie pool (Corinne was asleep, so that's Kenly in her suit.)
Dipping their hair in the pool to FLIP it out!

this is what I get when I ask for a smile... really dude?!

Kiddie Pool Swimming...

Corinne is loving the pre-summer weather! We've pulled out the kiddie pool and she's been loving it!
The other day it was slightly windy, so I filled the pool a bit and then did some in-home hot water to take the bite out of the chilled hose water. Corinne swam like a fish! She loves taking the bath-time barbies in the pool and talks to the mermaids & "princess" as she swims. So sweet.

Green Smoothies!

I've been crazy into Green Smoothies lately.
I drink at least 2 a day and sometimes more!
I love them, they give me nutrient boost that I couldn't possibly eat in a day. And they taste great (well, I think so!). I am feeling lighter, both body weight and in that dragging-tired feeling that used to follow me around. I have so much more energy when I drink them, and I feel SO GOOD. My digestive track is all regulated out, and I feel detoxed. I really really really love them. Some days when I'm in a rush, I'll eat a little breakfast, but be sure to have a full green smoothie. Or for the mid-day meals (you know, cause we're all supposed to be eating 5x a day..) I'll drink one of these.

Everyone's been asking me how I make them... well, here's how.
I use my VitaMix. It's a great blender, really. I honestly LOVE IT. We've even made ice cream in it. It's awesome.
I fill my blender with greens. I cram as much Spinach, Kale, and Collard Greens as I can.
Then I put just a bit of water in it. (like 2 inches in the bottom) Then I blend the greens till it's smooth and there's no more chunks.
I add my fruits. Handful of Grapes, handful of Blueberries, 1 Orange, 4-6 Strawberries (depending on size) --green tops and all!, and some Ginger root- about 1 inch.
Add fresh fruit to greens and blend. I increase the speed to 10 pretty quickly, then I run it on HIGH speed for about 1 minute. (or till I think it's all broken down)
Then I add a big cup of ice, and a frozen banana. (When I use a fresh banana I add it with the fruit above. I just choose what's easy for that moment.)
Blend till smooth, no more ice chunks.
And there's my day's worth of Green Smoothie
It's not fancy, it's not in a cool special cup. It's just my daily drink. I try to make a lot cause Corinne & Kenny love them too and I don't like to share, so I make a completely full blender, so there's some for all!

See my straw, best ever. It's a Slurpee straw from 7/11! It's aluminum so it keeps the smoothie cold. It's great! And it's big around so you can really drink it, no tiny straw for me anymore!

Kurt's MMA Fight

For Date Night (Saturday Night) we went to dinner and a fight!

Dinner was had at a new place off eastern.
I had tuna poke & asparagus
 Kenny had a cobb salad

We headed to the fights, where we watched 15 amazing fights, KO's and tapouts. It was awesome.
Live fights are so much cooler than watching on TV.
All of us (Kurts Crew) gathered and laughed and talked while watching the fights, waiting for Kurt's fight. (he was last- the big fight for the night!)

Lake Mead with Ropers

Eric & Brie invited us out to the lake on Saturday. It was so great. Really, I had such a good time. It was like the minute we got on the boat all the best memories of being on the lake came flooding back and I was instantly the happiest girl ever. We cruised in their jet boat going speedy and loving it. We went over to the dam to check it out, the kids loved it (Kallin especially when I told him that's where The Cube - The Allspark is. He's really into Transformers right now!)

Photos of us at the dam...

Right after this we were dead in the water. No big for us, but poor Colette thought it was the end of the world, and she was all stressed out. We called ourselves in and waited, we got a fellow boater to drag us to a better place (we were getting pretty close to the rock wall). Then handy-dandy Mr. Eric opened up the back and started fiddling around doing what-so-ever, and he fixed us. Seriously, he's awesome! Knowing motors and such got him to fix the little problem!! We were off again, and went to scout for a beach, as we continued the wind really kicked up, so we headed in (the boat's not really built for windy big waves). We laughed and enjoyed the ride, and suddenly a tidal wave crashed over us! Haha! It was so fun, we got 4 waves that got us pretty wet -Corinne was very angry at the water, telling it "no! no! stay in!"- We pulled the boat out and went and had our hot-dog and chip lunch in BC.  It was really fun. Kallin was talking all day about how fun his "boat ride" was. It was too cold to swim so it really was the perfect way to get out and enjoy the lake and the weather!

Thursday's Playdate

Each Thursday Courtney and I get the girls together for a play date. Jovy and Harlow came, too. This time we came to my house and let the girls play in the kiddie pool, jump on the tramp with it "raining" and had lunch together. The girls were in heaven while jumping, giggling and loving every minute of it!
We made sure to fill the pool early so when the girls got in it- it was as warm as a bath. Gotta love that Las Vegas Sun heating everything up! Here's a peek of the fun we all had!
